Boston, MA (April 9, 2025) – Manny Castro (Manchester, NH) recorded four hits and six RBIs on Wednesday afternoon as the Northern Essex Community College baseball team rolled past Roxbury by a 20-1 final score on the way to their 11th straight win and improved their record to 15-7 overall and 4-0 in conference.
For Castro, four of his six RBI's came on a first inning double to center field and a fourth inning home run to straight away center field.
Anthony Marino (Lynn) recorded three extra base hits in the game with a pair of doubles and a triple, four other Knights recoded two hits apiece in Luke Martinho (Lynnfield), Jake Yngber (Miami, FL), Mark McKay (Plymouth) and Brooks Keefe (Marblehead).
The Knights pitching staff struck out 11 batters led by Mike Giessler (Peabody) who struck out five batters in two innings of work to pick up the win.
For the game, NECC outhit Roxbury by a 17-2 margin.
The Knights will return to the field on Thursday when they travel to Quinsigamond for a 3:30pm first pitch.
