Alejandro Delgado named NJCAA National Player of the Week
Northern Essex sophomore forward Alejandro Delgado has been named the NJCAA Basketball National Player of the Week for the week ending December 7th.
Haverhill, MA (December 10, 2025) – Northern Essex sophomore forward Alejandro Delgado (Haverhill) has been named the NJCAA Basketball National Player of the Week for the week ending December 7th.
Delgado has been dominating over the last three weeks, and last week over the course of three games he shot 67% from the floor scoring 62 points while grabbing 37 rebounds and handing out 19 assists.
He led the Knights in scoring in two of the three wins and scored 10 of the teams 12 points in the overtime period last Saturday as the Knights defeated rival Quincy College 92-87.
For the season, Delgado is averaging 17.1 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as the Knigts are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak and currently have a nations best 14 wins and sit ranked seventh in the latest NJCAA national poll.
Delgado becomes the first Knights to pick up the weekly honor since Karl Wolfgang and Luis Reynoso both earned the honor in the 2023-24 season.
Delgado and the Knights will finish the first half of the season with a pair of road games as they travel to Massasoit on Saturday and Quinsigamond on December 17th.
